I help families, couples, and multigenerational groups plan unforgettable vacations to Disney destinations and beyond.
Whether it’s your first trip or your tenth, I’ll take care of the details so you can focus on what matters most - time together, shared laughter, and memories that last long after you’ve unpacked.
One of my favorite pastimes with my kids is baking. They have been by my side in the kitchen ever since they were toddlers, and they still enjoy helping me whip up sweet treats for birthdays and holidays and all of the ordinary days in between. Lately, though, the kids have taken over in the kitchen. I no longer pre-measure any ingredients for them, they’ve learned the delicate art of cracking eggs (with only the occasional rogue pieces of shell), and they are pros at using the electric mixer. I still do help with getting their yummy treats in and out of the oven but for the most part, they can tackle most recipes on their own. I am excited because I think their newfound independence will come in quite handy this summer during times when they are bored and looking for something to do. The recipes linked below are some of the kids’ favorites that they are always happy to make. All three recipes are perfect for newly independent bakers – but if your kids still need assistance in the kitchen I can assure you that these recipes are also simple enough to prepare together. And best of all, they can all easily be transformed into adorable Mickey Mouse creations!
MICKEY MOUSE PRETZEL DESSERT
First up are the Mickey Mouse Pretzels I previously shared on the blog. This recipe is the simplest of the three, requires minimal ingredients, and is ideal for all ages!
MICKEY MOUSE PEANUT BUTTER BLOSSOM COOKIES
Next, we have a super cute twist on the Peanut Butter Blossoms recipe from The Hershey Company. We follow this recipe exactly until Step 4. At that point lightly press 1 regular M&M and 2 M&M’s Minis into the center of each cookie to make a Mickey Mouse. They are so cute and still just as tasty!
MICKEY MOUSE RICE KRISPY TREATS
Last on our list is one of the most popular Disney Parks snacks of all time – the Mickey Mouse Rice Krispy Treat! To make these we start by preparing a batch of The Original Rice Krispies Treats Recipe from Kellogg’s. We follow this recipe the entire way through. After the treats are completely cool, we use a Mickey Mouse cookie cutter to cut out our shapes – and then it’s time to get creative with decorating. When the kids made these most recently they used melted dark chocolate chips and white chocolate chips and a variety of sprinkles for their toppings. I think they looked almost too good to eat…almost!
Happy baking everyone!!
