I help families, couples, and multigenerational groups plan unforgettable vacations to Disney destinations and beyond.
Whether it’s your first trip or your tenth, I’ll take care of the details so you can focus on what matters most - time together, shared laughter, and memories that last long after you’ve unpacked.
If you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World, it’s easy to get wrapped up in trying to fit everything in and focusing most of your attention on rides. But many of the most memorable moments, especially for kids, can come from slowing down and allowing for a little bit of spontaneity.
One of my favorite ways to balance the constant “go-go-go” of a Disney World vacation with something more relaxed is to take advantage of the scavenger hunts in the parks.
These Walt Disney World scavenger hunts are fun, low-stress, and a really great way to keep kids engaged without running from ride to ride all day.
Wilderness Explorers at Animal Kingdom
Kids of all ages will love channeling their inner Russell from Up as they work toward becoming official Wilderness Explorers at Animal Kingdom. This self-paced scavenger hunt-style activity takes you all around the park, with hands-on challenges focused on animal observation, nature, and conservation. It’s educational in the best way – kids are learning without even realizing it!
To get started, pick up a free handbook at one of the marked Wilderness Explorer Troop Leader locations. As you explore the park, stop at different stations to complete activities and earn badge stickers along the way.
EPCOT Festival Scavenger Hunts
If you’re visiting during one of EPCOT’s festivals, you’ll usually find a themed scavenger hunt happening around World Showcase. These do have a small cost, but they’re always a big hit with kids!
Each festival features its own unique hunt, like:
Figment’s Brush with the Masters (Festival of the Arts)
Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition (Festival of the Holidays)
Kids search for themed items hidden throughout the park and mark them on their map. Once completed, you can return your map for a small prize at any participating location in EPCOT.
Finding Dory’s Friends at EPCOT
Located inside The Seas pavilion, this hidden gem is perfect for younger kids. After riding The Seas with Nemo & Friends, pick up a complimentary booklet for Finding Dory’s Friends Fin-Tastic Scavenger Hunt.
As you explore the aquarium, kids can solve clues, spot different sea creatures, and learn fun facts about what they see along the way. It’s a great way to turn what could be a quick walkthrough of the pavilion into a more interactive experience.
A Pirate’s Adventure – Treasures of the Seven Seas at Magic Kingdom
If your kids love pirates, this is sure to be a hit! Located in Adventureland near Pirates of the Caribbean, this scavenger hunt lets you choose from multiple missions as you search for hidden treasures.
You’ll follow a map, solve clues, and trigger fun effects along the way. It’s a really neat way for kids to feel like they’re part of Jack Sparrows’ story – and since each mission only takes about 20 minutes, they’re easy to fit into your day.
Smellephants on Parade at Magic Kingdom
This newer scavenger hunt is perfect for little ones who need a break from lines and rides during a Magic Kingdom day. Located in Storybook Circus, kids explore the land and search for eight different “Smellephants,” match their scents, and mark their map with stickers along the way.
Scavenger hunts are one of those little extras that can end up being a highlight of your Walt Disney World vacation, especially if you have kids who need a break from a fast-paced ride schedule.
They’re simple and fun, and they can add a whole different layer of magic to your park days. You can start one when wait times are high, use it as a reset during a busy afternoon, or even just fit in a quick hunt between rides without feeling like you’re committing to something big.
Let your kids take the lead, explore at their own pace, and just enjoy the experience along the way!
Planning Disney vacations isn’t just my job - it’s my passion.
I know how truly special these trips are because I’ve experienced the magic myself. From my first glimpse of Cinderella Castle to the joy of watching my kids meet their favorite characters, these are moments I’ll never forget - and they’re my inspiration for helping other families create their own Disney magic.
The best Disney trips aren’t one-size-fits-all. They’re sprinkled with little details that make them yours. That’s where I come in! With expert guidance (and a touch of pixie dust), I’ll make your planning feel easy, exciting, and full of possibility.
