I always dreamed of visiting Walt Disney World as a young girl, but never got the chance until April 2008 when my toddlers and I tagged along on one of my husband’s business trips to Orlando. He promised us a day at the Magic Kingdom at the end of his work week, and the day before returning home he made good on that promise. That single day changed my life forever! I knew we were going to have a fun day together, but I did not expect the profound emotional impact that my first Walt Disney World experience would have on me from that day forward. I fell IN LOVE! Plain and simple; hook, line, and sinker; no doubt about it – it was love at first sight when I took my first steps down Main Street, U.S.A, and laid eyes for the first time on beautiful Cinderella’s Castle. Our day at the Magic Kingdom was filled with SUCH…PURE…JOY!!! So many moments that day overwhelmed me with tears of utter happiness! Seeing, feeling, and inhaling the magic for the first time ever was phenomenal! Even better, experiencing this most perfect world of fantasy with my husband and children is a gift I will treasure always!
Many wonderful vacations later, I am still as enchanted with the Walt Disney World Resort today as I was on that momentous day thirteen years ago. Regardless of how often we visit, every time we return and I see the “Walt Disney World – Where Dreams Come True” sign at the Resort’s entrance (and Cinderella’s Castle, and the fabulously impressive monorails, and all of our favorite attractions and characters – and, well, the list just goes on and on) without fail, I am always immediately overcome with delight!
I wish I could eloquently express what Walt Disney World means to me. I do not believe words exist that will ever be adequate enough to explain the love I have in my heart for this special, unbelievable, most magical place! Happy 50th Anniversary, Walt Disney World! And, from the very bottom of my heart, THANK YOU Roy O. Disney, Imagineers, Cast Members, and everyone who worked tirelessly to bring Walt’s dream to life! I am truly forever grateful!!
